- A performance environment: Warwick badminton is a Warwick Sport "focus sport", supported within the Team Warwick performance system.

- Warwick Sport reports 12,000+ students engaged in sport/active wellness in 2024/25.
- 4,980 students joined Team Warwick across 60+ sports clubs.

- Warwick badminton delivered standout results in 2024/25, including being 5th of 98 institutions on BUCS badminton points (Warwick Sport impact reporting).
(This is strongest as a "Warwick context" block rather than "UWBC guarantees X".)
How UWBC works
- Weekly sessions: training blocks plus matchplay (structured coaching where appropriate).
- Teams & competition: BUCS league fixtures on Wednesdays, plus championships opportunities.
- Joining made simple: come along, find the right level, and progress at your pace.
What BUCS matchday looks like
- BUCS matches are run on two courts over around three hours, with singles and doubles rubbers — and the home team supplies new feather shuttles.
(It signals seriousness + explains why court-time and logistics matter.)
What you'll get out of it
- Skill development (technique, movement, match tactics)
- Confidence and fitness through regular sport
- Belonging — one of the fastest ways to build a community at Warwick
